First Day of School

Here she is. Our little school girl. She was so excited to get to wear her uniform. She picked the jumper for her first day.

Danton and I just love this picture!!!

Getting a good start to her day eating by eating her breakfast!
You can't see it but she picked a princess backpack. I think it's almost as big as her
Outside ready to go in. I didn't cry that day but I am trying not to get teary eyed looking at this picture.
She had a great first day and the next two were a bit harder for her. I am struggling with her teacher so I am hoping this week goes better. Will keep you all posted.
Will talk more about school next time. Our computer broke on Wednesday the day school started so I couldn't send any pictures out so I just wanted to quick get some out. Now I am going to go and enjoy some time with Danton before another crazy week starts.

A little bit of everything

Mr. Lincoln loves the vaccuum. So when I was vaccumming one day I asked Averie to play with her brother and keep him distracted. When I got to the living room this is what I found. Averie had put him in the laundry basket. I asked her why and she said "she didn't want to watch him and this kept him from moving". As you can tell by the second picture Lincoln didn't like this option.

Thanks to GranDan and our zoo pass we were able to get in a day with some friends at the zoo. We tried to go a few weeks earlier but it was TOOO HOT. So we picked a day that was farily cool and we went first thing in the morning. It was fun to go with other kiddos and a friend for me we had a great time

all the kiddos standing in front of the Asian Tropics they are building.

Lincoln sat so well in the stroller the whole time. Here he is showing you how big he is!!

Averie on the the bronze hippo

How far can you jump? Averie can jump 4ft like a flea.

Averie, Lincoln and the Flamingos

If you haven't caught on we LOVE going to the pool as much as we can. Averie really picked up swimming last year and this year did great as well. She is a litle fish. This year she has also learned to backfloat. Since school starts there is only one pool that is still open. Hopefully we can get a couple of days in there before September 2nd.

One of the pools has a slide and some days she would slide the whole day.

So cute. Lincoln loves the slide as well. I would just put him on the end and he would giggle and smile the whole way down.

My two fish. If you notice the water shooting up in the back. Lincoln loves to sit right in the middle of that and just play. He thinks he's pretty cool stuff.

Hair Cut Day: With school coming up I made haircut appointments for everyone. As we are walking out the door Averie informed me she was cutting her hair off. This may not mean anything to you but Averie has been telling us that she is going to grow her hair out to her butt for a while now and that there was no way she was going to cut it. I was in shock and didn't know if she was going to change her mind or if I needed to change it for her.

Her mind wasn't changed and she cut 6 inches off her hair.

Lincoln also had an appointment that day. He was going to get his first Big Boy haircut. He cried the entire time but not because he was getting his hair cut he is just become very clingly lately and didn't want to be in the chair by himself.

I may be biased but he is so Darn Cute!!

We also had a couple of birthdays in our family last week. Happy 60th birthday MOM!!

My mom's sister sent her some things to wear on her special day. 60 Glassess, 60 tiarra and a button which reads "Sexy at 60" I think my mom must be trying to cover it up. haha!!

So here is what has happened over the past of the few weeks.

Danton: He is now officially done with EMT school. What a great birthday present for him!! Now all he has to do is go and get Nationally Certified. This should happen in the next few weeks. He did a GREAT job on his final exam. Out of 120 points he only missed 3. He is scheduled to start his IV class at the end of this month. I will have a volunteer calander out shortly!!. He will hopefully be able to start his Anatomy class as well, we should know about that soon since it starts next week.

Mr Lincoln: He is becoming such a big boy. He is now walking. Yes walking. I will try to get a video of that up soon. He working on some top teeth and we will all be glad when they get here. He loves to say dada but he is still a VERY big mamas boy. He is will give kissess but you never know when they will come. My mom got 2 on her birthday!
Averie: She starts school in 2 days. AGH!! She is so excited and very ready. She already has her outfit picked out and ready to go. She didnt' get to go to the pool everyday last week because she got the stomach bug. Averie is the only little girl I know that fights naps even when she is sick.
Rebecca: A very good friend of mine is going back to work and I have offered to watch her kiddos during the day. Her oldest is also starting KG this year and her youngest is 2. It should make for a very busy house!! Since our space is farily limited I have spent the last few days combing the house and making sure that is ready for all of them.
Should be posting again very quickly since Averie is starting school.

The Latest

Danton~ He is in the final stretch. His final exam is next Saturday the 14th. Then he will hopefully get to take his national certification fairly quickly. He has done an amazing job and is absolutely loving every minute of what he is doing. He has also made a great friend in the process. His name is Dustin, and he is a paramedic who occassionally teaches his class. Danton has done several rides with him and will probably be doing several more over this next year. Work is out of control. He is heading a new campaign his work is doing in Boulder. This is creating A LOT of extra work for him.

Averie~ 14 days an counting until the start of school. I am trying to cram in as much as I can in these last few days. I know I say this every week, but I just can't believe she is starting school. Thanks to a friend she is stocked up with uniforms and she has already told me what she is wearing on her first day. Danton and I have both commented lately that she is really growing up. What a little lady she is becoming.

Mr Lincoln~ As always what a delight! Here are the words he will often ramble off... mama, dada, bye bye. He LOVES to tell you "How big he is" and play patty cake. Sometimes I think he just keeps doing it to show off! He will stand on his own and do all the above. He has taken a few steps but he isn't officially walking. As far as his sleeping we are still trying to conquer that. We have found that his bowel issue and his sleeping are more than likely related. This isn't official but more than likely he has a hiatal hernia. I guess this is fairly commen in little babies and is often triggered by a quick delivery. This can often cause a lot of discomfot and adults with this can often think they are having heart attack symptoms. We have started doing some work to help him and we have been noticing slight improvements. It is unknown how long it can take to train your diaphragm to tighten up, but in little babies it often takes less time since there bodies haven't been through so much life like we have. Even through all that he is just an amazing little guy. He loves life, loves to giggle, loves to be held and cuddle and he even loves his sister!!!

Rebecca~ Besides staying busy with all the above... I was invited to be a part of a book club and I had my first meeting last Thursday. I had such a good time. It is nice to have something for me in all the craziness. I have really enjoyed readying some good books lately besides the book club choice. If anyone has any good recommends please let me know. One reason I love the club is that it is hard for me to know where to start sometimes. They gave me several book ideas and since we don't have tv it has been quite enjoyable.

Well off to bed because tomorrow is the zoo. The weather isn't supposed to be so blazing hot so I figured it was a good day to go.

Our Week

Danton~ He is very busy and he is doing great with the amount of things that are on his plate. He is still working full time and he also going to be re-locating to the Boulder office in a few weeks. That will cut his work commute in half. He will also be at a bank and so his hours will be banking hours. As far as school goes he has about 3 weeks left to go. So far he has done 1 ED clinical and 4 Ambulance Rides and he is doing his 5th on Saturday. His EMT National Cert is a two parter the first being the written test and the second the skills portion. This all happens the week of his birthday. He is enjoying everything about the class and can't wait to continue all his classes and then start Paramedic school next fall. Once his EMT class is done he is scheduled to start his IV class and then his EKG class. Anyone want to volunteer for IV practice!!

Averie~ She is enjoying her summer and is now in her last month before she starts school. She is SO excited. I don't really know what excites her more, the new school clothes, the new backpack and supplies or actually going to school. She has her last week of ballet next week and she is doing great. The teachers have told me that she really has natural talent and want to put her in the more advance class this fall. I decided to go and watch her in class on Monday and she really is a beautiful ballerina. She really may be a mom and ballet teacher when she grows up like she tells me.

Mr Lincoln~ What a fun little boy he is. He is just adding new things to his list everyday. Here is a few of the things he is doing now. He will tell you how big he is "So Big". He will clap his hands together if you ask him to "Patty Cake". If you are leaving he will wave "Bye Bye" to you, he is even trying to say it. I may be hearing things but I am pretty sure he is saying "Mama" He is also standing on his own for a good period of time and you can tell he knows he needs to step, he just hasn't figured that part out yet. He is a very very very fast little crawler. If he wants to get somewhere he will and quick. Until this last week he loved to get into my kitchen cabinets. Unfortunately for Lincoln Papa came and installed cabinet locks and now they aren't as much fun. Good thing to because last week he got into a candle and he was covered in black. When his sister isn't around doing all the talking he is actually a very noisy little boy. He still loves to cuddle and he still loves his mama.

Rebecca~ Well I am getting a little more sleep lately. I was so tired that I realized I needed to figure out why Lincoln wasn't sleeping. I found out he had a bowel problem that may have been making uncomfortable at night. Since working on that he is slowly improving. He isn't sleeping all night but at least he isnt' up every 1-2 hours all night long. I am also coming into the realization that Averie is starting school very soon. She got her uniforms last week and it was emotional seeing her in them. She is growing up and always keeping me on my toes. Selfishly I just want this last month to go by very SLOWLY.

Enjoy your week everyone.

Family Fun

What a fun weekend we had. On Thursday my sister-in-law and her kiddos from Oklahoma came to visit for a few days. The kids did very well with only a few minor melt downs!!! The oldest 4 played very well together. Lincoln enjoyed all the action as well. He loved it when they took time and played with him. Next year he will get to be in on the action. They got in a lot of crawdad fishing, playing in the ditch and playing in all of Papa's boxes. Monique and I spent some time walking downtown and went in some stores that I had never even been in.

Mr. Lincon is telling you how big he is SO BIG
All of the grandkids listening to Papa tell a Bible story after dinner.

Busy Week

Last week we had a fairly busy week. Danton had his first ED Clinical. He is enjoying his class and clinicals and is over half way done. Averie loves hearing all about it. She is fascinated by everything he is learning.
Danton's mom and brother were also in for the last part of the week. We enjoyed some good family time.
Mimi and the kiddos

Uncle Shane, what would we do with out him? They absolutely LOVE him. Only if he lived closer
On Saturday Danton had his second ambulance ride. It was a very busy day with 9 calls. Just to put it in perspective they say anything above 8 calls is considered busy. He said it was a bit overwhelming but very good. He was VERY tired that night. He goes on this third ride this Saturday night, his first night ride.

On Sunday we enjoyed celebrating the 4th of July. We went to church in the morning and then enjoyed some quiet family time in the afternoon. Danton had a large test last night so he got some good studying in as well. Then it was off to my parents for the grilling and fireworks. My parents also got their vitals checked as well and I am glad to report they are alive!!! Unfortunately that night the rain had other plans. We got in the dinner outside and the rain started to come. We ended up enjoying the fireworks from the frontseat of the van.

Averie and Mr. Lincoln enjoying the 4th
